FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do all participants get to use a fire extinguisher?

Yes! Every single participant will extinguish a real fire using a real extinguisher. We don't do demonstrations—everyone gets hands-on experience.

Is it safe? What if someone has never used an extinguisher before?

Absolutely safe. We use a controlled gas simulator (not petrol or flammable liquids), and our trainers are experienced firefighters who supervise every step. First-timers are our specialty!

How much space do you need?

We need an outdoor area approximately 10m x 10m, away from buildings and vehicles. A car park, loading bay, or grassed area works well. We'll assess your site beforehand.

What's the difference between PUAFER008 and CPPFES2005?

PUAFER008 covers fire extinguishers and chemical spills—ideal for general workplaces and fire wardens. CPPFES2005 includes extinguishers, fire hose reels, and fire blankets—required for construction and industrial sites.

How long is the certificate valid?

There's no official expiry, but Safe Work Australia recommends refresher training every 12 months to maintain competency.

Can we do a non-accredited session instead?

Yes! If you just want practical skills without the paperwork, our non-accredited sessions are faster, cheaper, and still deliver real fire experience.
